IDP - Wireless Network Installation
Challenge and Requirements Customer has a 12,000 sqft location that needed both indoor and outdoor wireless access throughout the entire property. The Client wished to be able to stream video from anywhere in the location as well as be able to roam around without having to switch to different wireless networks, both from indoor to outdoor and from floor to floor. Customer has originally used a 'standard installation' from a big box retail store, and was completely unsatisfied with the installation. Lastly the customer wanted the installation to be aesthetically pleasing.
Solution ALL IT decided to fulfill the client's needs using a 3-step approach. First, ALL IT sent out a wireless networking expert to survey the property, take pictures, and identify any interference sources. Secondly, ALL IT surveyed existing wireless infrastructure vendors, including Cisco, HP, and Meraki. Initially ALL IT settled on HP's ProCurve line, however due to the back-order status of the line across all of HP's distributors, ALL IT went with Meraki. Meraki was able to offer a higher quality product with a rapid time delivery. ALL IT went with Meraki's OD2-PRO and ID2-PRO access points, which provide seamless transition from indoor to outdoor usage and support high throughpout capability for video streaming. Lastly, ALL IT performed the entire installation in less than a full day, 2.5 hours of labor UNDER BUDGET
