Small Business Network set up
A San Antonio Tx-based Client has 2 computers to add on office network and have printing capabilities. AIT technician enabled network and sharing on work groups computers. Deleted password protection on shared folders and print server to avoid future issues. Set up and configured both machines to network and tested print pages on each.
Onsite Support
Client has two computers, both would not boot. AIT technician brought spare power supply onsite to test each machine. The first machine booted up fine and issues was resolved. The 2nd computer was diagnosed with a corrupt operating system and 7 failed capacitors. Technician took out the hard drive and mounted in another computer as a secondary drive. Backed up clients files to ensure they would not be lost in case of hard drive failure.

I got started in IT when my brother got me a summer job as a wire puller for HP in Cupertino, CA.
A crazy problem I’ve had on site was when I was installing and doing config on a CISCO Router and the power on the rack was dropping about every 3-4 min. The UPS was working fine so I never lost config, but it turned out that one of the employees brought in their dog for the day and where he told the dog to stay was just under the outlet for the main power cord (small Xerox office) every time the dog waged his tail it hit the power cord and the power cut off. It took me only 10 or 15 min to find it but we all cracked up and moved the dog. I secured the cord.
I use Firefox and now Chrome a bit (iGoogle is going away)
