Client: A leading insurance brokerage in California, 6 Locations
End-user: Branch Office Support
Project: Hardware upgrades on Workstation computers
Results: Project completion within a week’s time
The client is a wholesale insurance broker managing general agents across the country. The company decided that hardware updates were needed in some of the workstation computers found in its internal branches. Specifically, these units needed video card upgrades and new monitors for all six internal sites.
The client needed updates done on their computer hardware in 6 different sites. All IT field service technicians were tasked with the upgrades for all end-user machines at each branch for all locations. Work began as soon as the techs arrived alongside the new hardware for the workstation computers. Prior to the installation, the technicians performed asset inventories onsite for the client’s remote support team. Installation, configuration, and staging of the new monitors and video cards followed after that, where our IT support team worked with end-user schedules. At the first site, they learned that around five to twenty end-users were assigned to one machine on each location, so they made additional software adjustments to the units on top of the installs. Granted that no timeframe was specifically given besides “as soon as possible,” the project met deadline expectations since all internal branch installations were done within a week’s time.
